Kashi Vishwanath stands in the heart of Varanasi, now approached through the Kashi Vishwanath Dham corridor that opens the temple onto the Ganga. Baidyanath stands at Deoghar in Jharkhand, about 400 km east, and is held by many to be the Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga.
The road between them runs through Gaya, so we break the journey there rather than doing it in one long day, and Bodh Gaya is a short distance further — a place of a different faith entirely, and worth the afternoon. Six days gives each temple a proper morning and keeps the driving to about four hours a day at most.

Yes. Kashi Vishwanath at Varanasi is one of the twelve without dispute. Baidyanath at Deoghar is one of two claimants to the Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga — Parli Vaijnath in Maharashtra is the other. Different traditions follow different lists, and we would rather say so than pretend the question does not exist.
Roughly 400 km by road. We break it at Gaya rather than driving it in one day, which also puts Bodh Gaya on your route. Deoghar also has its own airport and a main railway junction at Jasidih.
Four days is possible if you fly or take a train between Varanasi and Deoghar and drop Gaya. You would lose Bodh Gaya and the second morning in Varanasi. We will lay out both versions and let you choose.
They vary by season and festival and they change. We confirm current timings with each temple for your dates rather than printing a number here that may be wrong when you travel.
The redeveloped approach that connects the temple to the Ganga ghats. It changed how the temple is entered and queued, so guidance written before it opened is out of date. We will brief you on the current entry process for your dates.
It needs planning. Cars cannot reach the ghats or the temple lanes, so there is walking on uneven ground, and steps down to the boats. It is entirely manageable at the right pace, with the right timing and with someone who knows which approach is shortest. Tell us the ages in your group.
The month of Shravan, unless the crowds are precisely what you are coming for. The Kanwar Yatra brings very large numbers of pilgrims to Baidyanath then. October to March is the comfortable window.
