Since May 2026 a Vande Bharat service runs between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar, covering 266 km in about 4 hours 50 minutes, with halts at Katra, Reasi and Banihal. It runs on the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla rail link, opened in June 2025, which crosses the Chenab Bridge — the world’s highest railway arch bridge.
