Day 1🏔️ —To the river, and a briefing

Delhi to Rishikesh by road, or a flight to Dehradun and half an hour in the car. The evening is for the river — the bridge, the ghats, the aarti at Triveni — and for a briefing from your trekking guide over dinner: the permit, the walking days, what to carry up and what to leave in the car. Early to bed. Tomorrow is the long road.
Today’s highlights
- Delhi to Rishikesh by private car, or fly to Dehradun.
- Check in on the river; the bridge and the ghats.
- A trek briefing with your guide: kit check, permit, the plan.
- Aarti at Triveni Ghat; an early night.

🏨 Where to stay
On the river, for the one comfortable night before the mountains.
✨ Signature experience
The Ganga at Rishikesh the night before you follow it to its source valleys.
✈️ Flying in
Dehradun (Jolly Grant) has nonstop flights from a dozen cities and is half an hour from Rishikesh.
📋 The permit
Entry to the Valley of Flowers National Park needs a Forest Department permit, arranged in your name. The fee is set by the department and has been reported at different levels in 2026; we add it at cost and do not publish a figure that may be wrong.
💡 Good to know
The valley is open from 1 June to 31 October. Outside those dates this itinerary does not exist, and no operator can sell it honestly.
